Whirring Noise In Engine

Hi:

I am new here and don't know if I am writing this in the right place but here goes:

I have a 1998 Toyota Sienna Minivan and my problem is this: I didn't drive it for about 16 days (due to illness) and when I started it after 16days, there was a big puff of smoke and a bunch of noise and finally it started. It is quiet when the engine is idleing , but when you get on the road and go faster, there is a whirring nosie that is so loud, you can'r hear the radio?? So, I took it to the Toyota delaer here and they told me to put premium gas in it and buy a bottle of gas treatment and go out on a highway and blow it out at fast speed.. I did that, but the noise is till there. I thought it might be the fan belt, but as far as I can see it is nmot. Does anyone know what the problem is?? The engine was always quiet before even at high speeds st 60 or 70 mph?? Can anyone help???

Is the noise cyclic? and does it vary with revs or speed?

If you get a mate to rev it can you look at the engine at the same time - to narrow down the noise?

(My whirring noise in my engine bay is a turbo  )

If there is no power loss then lucky the engine isnt busted. Your probably find its something simple but i dont know where to start really. I would have said it is your belts personally, if you rev up the car while parked does it still make the sound? If not then its gotta be part of the drive system, perhaps a bearing. :hokus-pokus:

Is it definitely from the engine and does it make the noise when stationary but revving engine? Could be water pump.

But if it only appears when on the move it has to be transmission related and my guess would be wheel bearing or cv joint then
