Haynes Manual For Ravs 1994 - 2006

This manual was published in the UK at the end of October 2008.

Having acquired a copy, its pretty clear that the manual is a reprint of the manual produced for the USA market a few years ago - the manual in the UK refers to 1994 - but the pages make no reference to RAVs earlier than 1996.

How accurate the manual is for younger RAVs I don't know, but just posting this information in case your thinking of buying me a Christmas present.

The wiring diagrams I found were disappointing, again as they focus on earlier cars.

I haven't summoned strength to read whether it covers the mechanical airbag !!

IMHO, Haynes manuals have for some time not be a patch on what they used to be.

Still, better than a slap in the face with a large wet halibut I suppose.

You'd be better off buying a jet wash token and couple of magic trees than a Haynes manual. They're a pale imitation of their former selves.

Still Santa's nearly here . . . ho ho ho . . . and I've got my wee lad two Scalectrix sets

Merry Christmas

I had one just as they came out to do my dmf. I have to say the stuff Anchorman sent was much better. I'm not overly impressed. For a DIY manual they seem to tell you to go to a main dealer far too much.

The online manuals are obviously much better, but these don't exist for the 4.1.

You can download a copy of the official factory service manual for the 4.3 via Bittorrent. Go to isohunt.com and do a search for RAV4. I think it's for the US spec, but it might be of some help. There are also many Haynes manuals listed for various models.

Yep, I suppose you want an electronic copy of this:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/1996-TOYOTA-RAV4-OEM-Fa...%3A1|240%3A1318

........but even that probably doesn't cover the original bits of RAV No.1 (1995?) and it's possibly a bit pricey in paper form.

What about the Chiltern Auto Repair Manual for the RAV4? (apparently written by one of the authors of the Haynes manual)
