Hi there, please can someone help me. Whilst travelling on the A11 at approx 75 mph the engine warning light together with the traction control off and VSC lights all came on and wont go off. The car doesnt appear to be operating any different to what it was before. The only thing is that i dont think the ABS is working. Please can anyone help me as i'm not sure wether to use the vehicle or not as i'm travelling to family over the christmas period.

Many thanks

Mark

Hi there, you probably shouldnt be driving it for any long distance because as you say the ABS or traction won't work when these warning lights are on, there may be a major issue with the brakes and not worth the risk.

I did have the exact same problem on an Audi S3 and it turned out to be a sensor on one of the front wheel hubs (abs / traction sensor) which had come loose.

Most likely it will just be a sensor but dont risk it if you can avoid it!

hope this helps

I had a similar problem. It was caused by the ECU going into safe mode, losing power. When stopped and restarted, the engine management light, the VSC light and the TRC light were all on. The car drove fine. When switched off and left for an hour then switched on again, all warning lights stayed off.

I suspect this may be a feature of the ECU. Anyway I thought I'd mention it in case it isn't directly related to VSC and TRC.

I would say the same, car should be fine to drive but always best getting the codes read/diagnostics done when the dealership re opens.

Mart.
