Hello

Im thinking of ditching my current Avensis 01 plate for a more mordern 2004 plate model. Was considering an Auto but wanted to know if these are more costlier to repair (as ive been told)... Any ideas folks? especially from current/previous owners!

thanks!

If a manual box breaks it's not cheap to fix either. Toyota gearboxes are pretty sturdy its other bits that fail on recent Toyota's so I wouldn't worry about it, if you want an auto, then go ahead.

Mines a 2004 1.8 auto, T3X. Love it, highly recommend it. Pretty good on juice too, good mpg etc. very smooth gearbox.

auto or not ?-- ive had manuals for years-- now ive gone on to autos-- its a bit like- manual typewriters v word processors.

in this day, only ,autos are reliable and according to road tests no more thirsty, ps, ive changed a few clutches -but changing a auto-box is much less common,
