2003 Corolla Verso D4d Service

Greetings all,

Am about to carry out a service on my car and was wondering whether to drain and replace the coolant. I have had the car from new and it has done approximately 43000 miles. Somewhere in the forums I read earlier that most Toyota's after 2002 had the long life coolant put in at manufacture?

any Ideas how much the stuff is from Toyota?

Also, not having replaced brake fluid in a car "since I were a lad" many years ago.......... is it still the same? I.e. drain, then keep filling the reservoir whilst getting someone to pump the pedal and bleeding each one in turn?

By the way, fantastic guide in the Corolla forum on how to change discs and pads, might be brave enough to attempt soon!

Many thanks.

have a look to see what colour the coolant is, if its red or green then its the normal for-life coolant and sounds like its due a change, if its pink then its the long life stuff, if its pink then you should also have a sticker warning you of this either on the underside of the bonnet or the front slam-panel. Excellent, thanks for that. Did the oil change yesterday and learnt a hard lesson regarding checking fluid capacities. Walked out of a shop with 4 litres of Castrol Edge then later found out that I needed 5.9 litres!!. Fuel filter was a bit beyond me but got some guidance and took around 20 mins.Hopefully will give brakes a go next weekend using the guide mentioned earlier. Many thanks again.
