Yaris '06 & Ipod Help

Evening All - Hopw you had a great Christmas.

I hope someone can help me.

I want to connect my Ipod to my car stereo but I am not sure what is availiable. _ I have used the FM transmitters but I have to keep on changing the radio station every 2 mins and it gets annoying when your driving.

I went to my local Toyota Dealer and they quoted me £500 and said that I should go to Halford as they are a fraction of the cost. I did this and they say I should go for the FM option.

Apparently you can get a cable that comes out of your glove box - is this true?

Can anyone suggest what I should go for? (oh by the way, I am not very technical LOL)

Thanks for your time and have a great New Year.

simon

Your dealership are out of their mind. What year Yaris do you have? A kit for current Yaris is listed in Toyota's official accessories book for £215 installed!

Thought most dealers will fit a kit in between £120 to £150.

Hi - i had this done about 2 years ago and its one of the best things about my car.

Got an adaptor from Halfords - was £50, forgotten what it was called but think there is only one for a Toyota Yaris. Halfords offered to install it for free when i got mine but they are a bit stupid and were trying to fit it into my display unit rather than my cd unit. In the end i did it myself - you could just make sure they are fitting it into the right unit before they tell u it doesnt work.

After that you need one of the red and white 3.5 leads which goes into the adaptor and the other into your ipod and its done. Mine comes out beneath the plastic on the passenger side as the adaptor sits comfortably around this area (doesnt move about when ur driving etc). U press tape/cd button so the display reads 'CD-1' and out comes the sounds.

Hope this helps.
