I got quoted the 21'st of the month(jan) I had planned on holding out till the new plates came out but Toyota are throwing in metallic paint if ordered before Mar 1st, I ordered the mudflaps as extra, i would have liked a roof spoiler too but there is no cost as yet for it - maybe later if i ever feel flush :)

Hey Sooz, you didnt speak to the right people. You want a spoiler? What colour do you want and where do I deliver it?

£305 delivered by the :king: Including painting and carriage

Kingo

Kingo, is there a list of accessories ,and prices, for items like mudflaps for the iQ?

I have seen one with the spoiler mentioned but not mudflaps, nor have I seen a picture of an iQ with them fitted.

Did I like the car - you bet, pricey yes, but you get what you pay for, this little car has style in spades, so I ordered me one! :D

Hey SooZ, have you been quoted a delivery date? I ordered last Friday but wanted the nav and isports options so it looks like it will be a factory order - did you go for any extras?

So in less than a couple of weeks you will be behind the wheel - nice! You will have to post some pics when it lands.

I know the IQ wheels are very narrow so im not sure you will fit the 7j alloys onto it.

You could try and convince the dealer to swap a set of wheels for a Yaris TR with the same type alloys onto the IQ though ;) saves ordering and paying for something that wont fit then.

All depends how helpful they are really :)

The problem is that he doesn't have the right wheels to test on the iQ  i think that i call Toyota Info Center next week. They need to now such things.

I have now driven two of them, and auto and a manual.

I only had a very brief drive in the auto, so did not really get the chance to do it justice. It feels slow, but I suspect that the CVT transmission actually masks the real speed as you do not get the same feedback, much like the feel you get on big scooters.

The manual was punchy enough for real world motoring, and more importantly could hold an easy 80mph on the motorway, and felt perfectly stable even though it was a very windy day.

I can see my wife's Golf being sold and one of these ordered.

:D

PS. Pity you can't order heated seats in the UK, cos a swift gander thro the owners manual suggests they are an option in other markets.

had them in the Smart, bliss :D

Toyota called me yesterday and they told me that 16" will fit on the iQ but with 6.5Jx16 dimensions. So now it's searching for wheels with that measurement.

Thanks for the info, Mart.

It's always helpful to get insider gen from you and Kingo

Still picking your brains (if I may!): Do you know if the iQ comes with a tonneau cover to hide luggage etc when the rear seats are folded?

My local MrT salesperson doesn't know and can't find a tonneau in the car, but says he will try to find out....

I am sure I have seen a road test where a tonneau is mentioned, but it wouldn't be too hard to make one if required.

I did one for an old MG Midget a few years ago which worked OK.

Hey John, a tonneau cover is included with the car. It has poppers and is easily attached removed when the seats are down. Its a similar colour to the interior of the car. I had a good 'play' with the car which included attatching and detaching the cover before I placed my order!

Hope your insurance comes through quickly, you must be champing at the bit to get in it and go for a run!

Let us know how it compares to your Aygo.

Good luck with your lovely new car!

No disrespect to the Aygo of course, but its like an upgrade from economy to business class. Quiet, more comfortable, solid, not tinny, quality of finish, better ride, loads of nice gismos, think ill go for another run :P

I have ordered an iQ after having a good investigation of the demonstrator in our local MrT's, and your comments are what I was hoping to read from the first new owner to post their opinions of the iQ compared to an Aygo (which I have at present and am delighted with, but it is reaching change time).

Thank you for reassuring me!

I was impressed with what I saw in the demonstrator but many articles in magazines, in road tests, say the interior finish/quality is not as good as it good be.

As I say, I am perfectly happy with what I saw, in fact very happy, so are these reports a bit nitpicking?

Also the brown/plum colour, used in some of the interior plastics, in magazine pictures appears to be much lighter than the colour in the demonstrator. I prefer a darker colour, so could the production models interior been slightly changed from those sent over for roadtesting?

I still have a couple of weeks to wait, but I am really looking forward to it's arrival!

I hope all goes well for you and yours!

I drove the iQ today and agree that it is a totally different car to the Aygo, much more refined and quieter on the motorway.

I took it to show my Dad, and he was surprised to see that his golf clubs would fit in the back easily with the seats down, and there was room for a trolley too

It is a good car to drive, but why is there no height adjustment on the seats? There's plenty of room in the front for tall people, but I would rather not have my head almost up to the roof. Don't understand that at all in what is quite an up-market small car.

Have people seen the iQs at the Tokyo Auto Salon this year, complete with Blitz turbo, Tein suspension and Modellista wide-body kits

I have seen a few iQs advertised which UK dealers have registered and already put up for sale -

I wasn't expected to see pre-reg / demo cars for sale so quickly...I don't see any bargains though, and with a

pre-registered car I think you are listed as the 2nd owner in the log-book.

It's "iQ open weekend" at one dealer near me this weekend, whatever that means.

I think we'll wait and go on a weekday when its a bit quieter :P

Have people been allowed out on test drives on their own or are they always

accompanied by a sales person?

If so we'll bung him/her in the back I think to test out the rear seats :o

I've seen a few Tokyo iQ pictures here :D

I quite like the idea of the painted lower front grille you get with Modellista: see attached file below
