I had the same problem with my car around a week ago and took it for the diagnostic, the guy did several diagnostics on the car and it was the secondary air pump on my car.

Mike,

Sure you did the vacuum hoses right when you took the K&N off? 'cos putting them on wrong brings on the warning lights.

in that case it mite be your cat.. if it is your cat u you need to get it seen to straight away before the particles get sucked back into the engine

I've got the same issue with my corolla. The garage says that if it isn't the cat, then the ECU is faulty. However, the price you got there is way more than what I must pay for changing the cat.

The cat itself costs about £850 plus labour and VAT (which in norway is £110 per hour and 25% VAT).

no worries.. happened with mine so i replaced it with a black horse sports cat £265 fitted..

£3500? wow! that seems pretty high considering the qoute i had for a new exhaust system was £960 from Mr T!

good luck

Don't think he cares about the price, good old Warranties!

Seems a lot of the Compressors have problems with their exhausts... Obviously not built well!! You don't build 'em do you Mike? haha... :Runs:

no Key i used to build the 1.4 and 1.6 to go in corolla lol, but keep runnin anyway!!!!! lol

well they've text me today to book my car in so yeah i'm not bothered bout cost cos it's under warranty lol

but if it wasn't i'd probably go for the aftermarket route, but i'd go for total de-cat instead of sports cat

think the reason the cat's go on these is cos using the wrong fuel does wreck them, so with people using normal fuel instead of 98+ octane (mainly dealers doing this) has damaged them, i know i have always ran mine on v-power but i know it wasn't run on high octane fuel by the dealer cos i had to do the ecu reset tp put the power back up
