Hi everyone this is the first time i have posted on here so i hope it's not all jibberish. I have had this imported estima for about four months during this time i have changed the auto box due to it not going in to overdrive or in to reverse (shopping at tesco's really hurt my back) .

Anyhow it worked fine until the transfer box started grinding under tight turns and in reverse, so i changed the transfer box and changed the oil in the box and then it was brilliant and very smooth until today.

It was making a hissing noise but it was more like two fine grit sandpapers rubbing together so i checked the transmission oil level and it was a tad low so i topped up with dexron 3 which it was on allready. Then i started to drive home from my dads it went in gear or drive fine but then i pulled up to a shop popped it in park and as i got back in and popped it in reverse the sound of rubbing got louder and it had no go it moves very slowly and somtimes catches grip in the L gear but even that is when the speed builds up and the engine revs are dropped slightly.

So if you know whats up with it please let me know as im sick of spending money on it and don't want to spend it if it's the wrong thing.

cheers steve.... ps... i think it's the torque converter on the way out but i want to make sure

oh also my starter motor solenoid isn't kicking it all the way it stops just short of the flex plate /fly wheel and gives a grinding noise atleast ten times before starting. any ideas?
