Yaris Sr Diesel Clutch Trouble

Hi all,

I've got a 58 plate Yaris SR diesel with 1000 miles on the clock, that appears to have developed a problem with the clutch... let me explain and any advice would be appreciated...

The car has not been driven for 4 weeks, took it out for the first time today and the clutch appears to have got very noisey, everytime I change gear and bring the clutch up there is a definite 'clunk' from the front of the car. Also pulled away slightly sharpish from a junction which caused a large number of very large 'clunks', and also felt like it was slipping slightly...

Could this just be down to the cold weather and lack of usage, or does the clutch need replacing/adjusting? Is it even possible to adjust the clutch plates..? Any advice would be great!

Oh and happy new year!!

Hi

This sounds exactly the same problem I've got, worse in cold and damp, and after standing a few days.

  • 3 months later...

Car is going into dealer to look at said problem, have now given the car enough time to 'bed' in so to speak.

Will keep you updated...

Do a search for 'clutch judder' Seems to be a problem with a lot of the new Yariss. Bye bye toyotas build quality.

Seems the new Yaris has loads of niggles, not what you would expect from a new car esp a Toyota. :(

If it was my car i would take it back to the dealers and not accept it back until it was absolutely perfect!

Good luck. ;)
