Have you had it lowered or carrying a huge weight in the boot?

standard suspension only thing i carry in boot regular is my golf clubs, hardly a massive weight

Sounds like you need to get the geometry checked then, as one cause of the symptoms you are getting is the wheels angling out a bit (incorrect camber)

drivers side rear tyre was out of shape, notice it last week when cleaning the car, got pair of new tyres fitted
