Engine Rattle On 4.3 2.2

I have a 4.3 xt5 2.2 on a 06 plate with 20,000 miles on the clock. i have had the vehicle 4 months now and have been really pleased with it apart from an engine rattle. It tends to be more evident when the engine is cold although it is apparent when operating at normal temperature. the best way to explain it is when changing up through the gears and applying load to the engine I get this noise which sounds like a bag of ratterling spanners from within the engine. Changing from 1st to 2nd seems to be at its worst I still have 6 months Toyota warrenty. Has anyone else experianced something similar or is this normal with this engine? HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL.

I believe so Carlos. I can provoke a harsh growl or diesel knock with mine depending on throttle position and load which is much worse when cold. I have driven others that are the same so my feeling is the noise you are describing is normal.

Just a thought Anchs, you know the engine cover that you like to remove :rolleyes:

doesn't that rattle sometimes and you cut a little bit away at the back, i did it to mine but it wasn't really a metallic sound but it did the trick.. :unsure:
