Indicator Mirrors

Hi,

First post here.

Have been reading this forum since before purchase of my 4.3 D4D XTR.

Have been wondering about modifying door mirrors to mount an aftermarket LED repeater system. Has anyone done this?

If not, how easy is it to remove the covers to get an idea of what is going on inside with a view to drilling a small hole to route the wires down the doors and to the wing repeaters?

Pity they have taken until '09 model to include this feature as standard. Anyone know if the new model has a washer water level warning? Pretty simple, low cost device that I would have expected on a vehicle of the price! Otherwise very pleased with RAV so far.

Thanks,

David

Dave, have a look on Rav4world. Someone has done it on there, I believe the kit was bought on e bay.

Thanks,

Will have a search

This is a brilliant suggestion, and a feature that is much needed on the Rav 4. Some time ago I introduced a thread that complained about the silent operation of the indicator warning buzzer. This is probably my only criticism of this model, but something that neeeds to be addressed sooner rather than later.

Well, had a search and the only member who has fitted the type of LEDs [stick on strip] that I was thinking about, has not posted any tips or pictures that I can find so still hoping someone here in the good old UK can shed a bit of light

Hi Dave,

Thanks for link - I did see those but I was thinking of a much cheaper alternative:

Anyone fitted anything like these? I don't want to just 'have a go' and create a major headache.
