As the title says, will the trip computer from a petrol yaris work in a diesel yaris? I really want the mpg display but aren't sure if the ECU in the diesel model will even support this feature. I have a 2004 1.4D4D yaris.

I could always go to a junkyard and buy one for next to nothing i suppose but i thought i'd ask here first. Any ideas?

Yeah, I fell for that too. Didn't realise the D-4D didn't have a milage computer like the VVTI's (Why Toyota? Why??)

That said, it might be easier to just get a Scangauge and plug it into the ODB port rather than trying to retro-fit a VVTi trip computer thing into the D-4D (Is it even possible??).

It should physically fit alright but i don't know how many extra wires are in the cable of the petrol model trip computer, if any. If there are extra wires, then it won't work, but if there are no extra cables then there is hope! I would love a scangauge but the cashflow is non existant at the mo......
