Trip Computer & Satnav System

Dear Toyota Owners and best wishes for the New Year,

I have a Toyota Yaris Verso 1.4 D-4D (van / pickup edition), that I use for transportation between expedtions in the arctic. Since I normally drive very long distances I would very much like to install a trip computer and a satnav / GPS system in the car's dashbord - preferably something original (delivered or used by Toyota in cars delivered with it originally), but not a must - or it can be something better . I am not too much fan of the things you attach to the window, so mainly I would like to get it installed in the dashboard, where the cd-player / radio control unit is located today. I also see that some of the buttons has text saying "Guidance", "Satnav", etc., but I know the car lacks the rest, except the buttons

Can someone help me with information and how I can proceed to get a hold of such components?

I'm pretty sure you can get a surround to fit these into the Yaris in place of the radio, it's an excellent device I can recommend it

Thank you for your answer. Your system is very interesting, however, I do not have the time to do alot of work on my car. Best for me is either purchase something finished, almost ready to go, or have Toyota fix it for me if possible and not too expensive.

Does your system show liters consumption pr. kilometer average, peak and instant as well as having the GPS system?!

The standard car has a fuel computer which shows that, the aftermarket unit doesn't know how much fuel you are using. My wifes 2007 Yaris SR 1.3 also has a standard fuel computer, it is accessed via the button next to the clock on the dash... maybe you already have one!!!

This unit is plug and play with the correct lead, the leads and facis are available via eBay or other sites and it doesn't take long to fit, I had to modify the surround for mine as I couldn't find one for the Verso at the time....
