Min And Max Outside Temperature

This morning my Auris reported -5C as my outside temperature, as it has done on one other occasion that I can recall.

Also this morning my colleagues Nissan Almera reported an alarming -11C.

Just how low does the outside temperature readout on the Auris go? I remember back to my 1997 Corolla and I'm sure that never went below 0C regardless of the outside.

So the question now is, just how low have you seen your Auris outide temperature go?

Mine was displaying -5°C this morning in Bracknell... it was a tropical -2°C by the time I got to work in Slough!

well mine has gone as low as -3 but another addittional point, i drive the t180 and it does not like these freezing temperatures, the mpg drops quite expedentially and when the heater is on the car wont idle below 1100rpm, when if the climate control is off it will idle at 800rpm.

hi think you will find that when temp reaches normal operating temp idle will drop back to 800 its a cold idle sensor working as it should but yes mpg does drop in this cold weather

Mines exactly the same, take ages to warm to "Normal Operating Temperature" too with the climate control sucking all the heat from the engine.

Haven't noticed it taking any longer to warm up in -8 compared to 1c this morn.

MPG is taken a big hit though. Down by about 6mpg.

Also yesterday when it was -8 my exhaust gas recycle kicked in before the car had warmed up fully. Because it was -8 and the exhaust dumped a load of steam the back of the car was practically engulfed for about 5seconds in white steam. Probably because of the massive difference in temp.

Mine record was -19C last year in december. The car started just fine. But i watch Top Gear's episode once that Richard Hammond with Citroen C1 goes on -30C and the car totally stop working. So you do the math
