Recently I took my toyota Avensis Automatic(02) for leakage of the transmission oil, the mechnic changedf the stering Rod as he said its a common fault with these models but R, S, T, Reg models never had this trouble so he changed with old model used Rod and after tracking my car runs again like before. Now the problem is 3 lights on the panel are on, VSC, ABS, VSC off, its not making any diffrence to drive IF any one knows and share his experience will be appreciated. Haque

1 - steering rack is a "know issue" but the known problem is rattling whilst turning conrners

2 - the rattling noise is caused by lack of grease in the rack

3 - Unless the rack was damaged / Ie buckled the it would need to be replaced

You can reset the ecu and see if the lights go away,

if not speak to the guy again and make sure hes got all the sensors plugged in.
