Rav 4-3 Rear Window.

I know it is a problem with all vehicles that cut off below the rear window, but has anyone got a solution to help keep these rear screens dirt free. I spent a good hour this morning washing, and cleaning all my car windows. I would have expected an accumulation of muck to have gathered at the end of my 60 mile journey, but the fact was it was filthy after only 2 miles, following the first use of the rear washer !!! Toyota really need to re-design the rear wiper, or if possible add a second one in order to improve the view out of the back !!!

They do a roof spoiler that might help but I think the shape of the back just pulls up a large amount of turbulance. Mine is the same.

At this time of the year John your car is being covered with a very fine layer of salt off the road which while your car is dry you dont notice, as soon as your car attracts moisture of any kind whether its from the atmosphere or your washers the salt turns white or muckey grey + other than cleaning your car and keeping it dry there is unfortunately no answer that i know of but i dont think Ravs are any worse than any other similarly shaped vehicle just wait till the weather improves and give it a good valet..

I think the rear window wiper of the 4.3 is poor compared with the 4.2. To me it's too small and off-set to the near side. I always keep the hose connected outside and it only takes me minutes to blast the worst of the salt and grime off every day - unless it's frozen!!!!!!

I think it's offset to allow for the rear tyre, but as most owners no longer have one, it does leave a large dirty area!
