Thesis Rav4 D4-d 2.2

My name is Thomas Bauters and I live in Belgium.

I'm in the last year of the secondary school, and I need to make a thesis to get my diploma.

I decided to do mine about the Toyota RAV4 D4-D 2.2, because that's my dad's car.

I want to talk about the construction of the motor, mechanical and electrical.

And I also would like to talk about the D4-D system, especially about the common-rail injection.

So I would like you guys to ask if you can help me, to get me some information about the engine about the Toyota RAV4 D4-D 2.2, and the D4-D system.

Hi Thomas

For starters you could invest a couple of euros in buying a manual off eBay. Lots of technical background and for virtually no money.

You can cut and paste into your thesis....

You want to approach 'Parts King' who is a very helpful Manager with a large Toyota dealership; I am sure he will be more than helpful in providing you with all the information you need.

Thanks James, but I can get those manuals for free, but in the manuals stands how you change a part, not how the engine is build.

Good. if you really do have the full set of manuals then the 'repair part' is a small fraction of what the CD listed above contains.

You should see these five sections and about 1570 files/ 350Mb of documents

1 - Extras

2 - Toyota rav4 new car features (contains full description of engine technology etc)

3 - Owners manual

4 - Repair manual

5 - Wiring diagrams

only part 4 tells you how to change a part, the rest are full of technical descriptions.

Here is a sample description for the VVTi engine from another Toyota technical manual. I assume you are after stuff like this?

You can get the same documents from the Toyota technical site... for 3 euro an hour. Maybe you can get it for free?

Once you have the basics from this documentation, then you can ask more specific questions on this forum like 'why are 3 door RAVs better than 5 door RAVs etc' ... then I am sure someone here will know ;)
