Gen 7 Jap Import

Hi all,

Hopefully somebody here can help.

I've got a 2000 gen 7 celica jap import. firstly I want to replace the stereo, I was going to go to Halfords but since it's a jap import I thought I might need some things that they might now have. I know I need the facia, which I think they have but are there wiring differences with the jap import? will I need some manner of converter to get it to work? I've seen toyota wiring adapters online and Halfords list an 'adapter harness' as being required for the celica. The roof antenna is also broken (the whip part), has anybody replaced theres? again, will there be import implications?

I also need a new front corner light, I know the european versions don't have them. I've seen a few online on US sites, does anybody know if a US corner light would work? something like this... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...AAQ:MOTORS:1123

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim

Cool, thanks for that.

I think I'll go to Halfords tomorrow and see if they can install a stereo for me. Hopefully they can, I've seen all that needs to be done to replace what's there and I really dont fancy it... maybe they'll have an aerial for me too!

Got a decent sony stereo from Halfords, and they had an antenna that fitted! Delighted with the stereo but the facia they used is a generic type one so there's big gaps around the unit... I'll have to remedy that in the future.
