Hello all,

I'm new to the forum and appologise for dragging this post out of the archives. We are looking to buy a T180 Rav4 as soon as we well our 2001 Rav4 NRG 3 door. I'm really hoping to buy one with front bars and side steps fitted but this is severely limiting my options.

Anyone bought any recently and can quote rough prices?

I see Parts King is the man to ask but am not allowed to PM yet.

Great forum all and i'm sure i'll be using it much more in the future (when i come to install rear camera and new DVD/Sat Nav rolleyes.gif One step at a time though.

Cheers

Hi Barkerboy,

The approx price of the front guard and side bars would be £599.96 and that includes VAT and carraiage.

however we would need vehicle details i.e reg or chasis if you did want these parts ordering as this is just a round about price.

Regards Tom.

Thats a very precise round about price, I thought it was more like £599.95 unless they've gone up!

Thanks for the price. That seems acceptable although if i could buy a car with them on already that is surely the most cost effective way. Got my eye on one at a Toyota Dealer but need to shave £750 off the asking price. Not wishing to go off topic but if anyone has any buying advice. I plan to offer a cash on the table sale and hope they accept. Will keep you all informed (p.s. want silver or grey). Looked at a black which was nice but it was flat (not metallic) and showed lots of marks.

I suspect that one of your best bargaining chips is the issue relating to the dreaded 'run flat' wheels. Have a real good look at the tread depth as early need to replace tyres could be a considerable expense and bother. I am assuming you have read the threads relating to 'run flats'? If not, I strongly recommend you do. Fore-warned is fore-armed

Yes i'm pretty well read on the run flat issue and think the cost is outrageus. If the XTR came with all the other gadgets, 18" wheels and leather the T180 has i would go for that any day but there are just too many toys and the added power has won me over. Plan to try and have them cut off when tyres need replacing but got to find somewhere in the South East as i've only seen scottish places mentioned. I'll be crossing that bridge when it arrives don't you worry.

Good advice, thanks.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just a final update.

We bought a T180 today. Grey with the style pack and roof bars fitted, and headrest DVD screens. So as it has the style pack fitted i havn't got to go through the drama of trying to do it myself :-)

For info Toyota Maidstone quoted me £680ish for the style pack and fitting. Rear parking sensors were around £400+ but again thankfully the car i've bought has these.

Thanks Kingo and all the others that read this post.

Catch you all on the forum soon!
