I am in the process of buying a 95 Surf. All seems ok apart from the rear window issue....is this a common problem and what is the likely cause?

Cheers.

Hello to you all, by the way (new to board)

They're usually slow because the rubber seal around the frame is dry. Just give it a spray with some rubber and nylon lubricant, silicone spray or spray on furniture polish to make the rubber slippery.

See here for servicing the mechanism too.....http://www.showmesome.info/hilux/workshop/rear_door.htm
