Looks a lot better than the current model; should draw much less criticism. I hope those fuel economy figures are genuine too.

The Prius certainly looks good (sorry for the mis spelt name on topic header :!Removed!: )

The Honda Insight is out this year as well.. should give the Toyota a nice run......

Outside looks very nice. the interior is a HUGE step backwards IMO, glad I got mine now and not when these hit the streets!

I wonder what the new model will do for residuals on the current MkII model. They seem to be holding up quite well so far, even in today's market place, but with a replacement due it usually has a knock-on effect.

An artical in AutoExpress this week (if its true of course) says the current Prius will be available along side the new model, but at a lower price to compete with the Insight. They tested the Insight and I think it looks horrible, the Prius, both current & new are much nice looking and can run on electric alone, which the Insight can't do ;)

Completely true - was told the same thing during a new model course for the IQ/AVENSIS.

Both will be for sale along side each other.

MK2 Prius will be approx £14k and MK3 Prius approx £19k

Mart.

Exactly what I was worried about. I paid £14,600 for my 06 T-Spirit last May, and if the existing model is going to see a £3k price reduction, with a new, more attractive version on top of that, I think existing Mk2 residuals are going to be harmed. Ho hum.
