Alarm Query

Hi, Just joined the forum and this is my first post.

I've not long bought a 51 plate 3dr petrol Rav4.2 and its missing the owners handbook, anyone know where I can get a replacement one at a reasonable price?

Also, had to pop to the shops the other day, daughter wanted to stay in the car, I locked it and then the alarm went off. Any advice on how to disable the alarm when leaving kids/dogs in the car?

Hi mate and welcome to TOC,

Edit, just noticed its a 4.2, if I remember right it's down to how many times you press the locking button on the remote.

Not sure (my 4.2 is gone a year ago) its either 1 or 3 presses I think to lock without the interior sensors working. Someone

will no doubt correct me if wrong

Hi Bluedave,

1 press on the fob locks car and sets alarm.

2 presses - double locks car and sets alarm. (Doors can't be opened from inside)

3 presses - double locks car and sets alarm but turns off interior sensors. (Stops alarm going off when dogs/kids are left inside)

Thanks for the help guys,will give it a try tonight if i can persuade the kids to be guinea pigs!
