4afe -> 4age

I have heard that you can take a 4AFE and remove the cylinder head and replace it with a 4AGE head, with out any problems. Is this true? how hard would it be to buy a complete cylinder head and just bolt it on? I have looked around on the net and I have found this site . Have any of you done this kind of thing?

Is that the 1.6 or the 1.8 liter engine? If you find out if you can do it or not, let me know! I'd like to do it also.

Shinma, The 4AFE is a 1.6, the 1.8 is the 7AFE

AFAIK the blocks are identical so head will bolt straight on however think you will have too change pistons and the distributor on a 4age is on side of the head.
