Tte Compressor Help

Hello, Toyota people!

I wonder if somebody could shed some light on why there's a 16" T-Sport alloy in the boot of my TTE Compressor, as opposed to either a space saver or in the very least a 17" TTE alloy that matches the ones I've got?

I should have one of these:

But instead, I've got this:

Is that common? Surely that can't be safe?!

Help, please! :(

don't worry bout it, it's meant to come with one of those 16'' t-sport wheels

yeah it is safe the bigger profile tyre makes up for the smaller wheel

Any idea why? Surely if they were going to bother adding a full sized alloy it should be the right size?

That's just mean. :(

And thanks for your reply. :)

no idea why, the normal t sport comes with same spare wheel, but could be cos the 17'' won't fit in the space as it is wider???

I got my compressor when it only had 200 miles on the clock.. it came with a brand new 17" TTE alloy and standard fitment 215/45x17 Pirelli tyre.. as far as I know ALL compressors came standard this way.

Maybe at some point in your cars history a wheel got damaged and was replaced by the 16" wheel... or prhaps the dealership you bought it from used the wheel on another compressor they sold that had a missing/damaged wheel.

There is absolutely no danger whatsoever if you need to use your 16" spare, however you will have to drive under the same restrictions that anyone useing a space saver has to, that is a maximum speed of 50mph for no greater distance than 65 miles in any single journey, this is simply because you would have 2 different sizes across the same axle.

Nope, as Mike said the CTS-C came as standard with a CTS alloy as a spare.

You must have just been lucky with yours! ;)

I seem to remember someone else mentioning this maybe a year ago, and a few people had the 16" wheel rather than the 17" (although most people had the 17"). It might have been down to the first run of cars off the production line having the old TS wheel and then they corrected it shortly afterwards.

Looks like some got the Compressor 17" wheel as spare and some got the t-sport 16", I got the 16"

Is this something I can give Toyota a poke about?

I'm really not very happy with them at the minute.

*****ty gearbox, their valeters ruined my paintwork and they can't even get the spare wheel in the boot right. :P

Don't worry about it. Mine has also got a 16" CTS alloy as the spare, never been touched.

As someone has already suggested probably something to do with the age of the car, my car is a 2005 on a 55 if that helps.

Probably has little more to do than the price........if any manufacturer can save a few quid, they will. So long as the tyre/wheel you have fits and is legal, your dealer isnt going to replace it. I would sooner have a 16" T Sport alloy than a space saver  Would'nt you?

Kingo
