Smashed Window!

great way to start the morning!! my wife is in hysterics, someones smashed hear passenger side window :censor: . Nothing stolen but the weirdest thing is my car is parked right next to it and they chose the yaris, in fact they had to walk between our 2 cars to do it in the first place!!! would i like to get my hands on them.....

Perhaps it was a caterpolt (not sure how you spell it) check to see if any cars along your street are the same.

i have a s2000. like i said its v.strange! may be they got disturbed!!! i am now comtemplating getting windows on both our cars tinted (only 35%), although it looks good the main reson is so that if it happens again i won't have glass everywhere. has anyone had any epxeriences with darkening windows? any recomendations?

i had mine tinted myself for such reason. it effectively 'laminates' the windows like the wind screen.

looks like another couple of knee caps need removing! sorry to hear about it buddy!

thx jaxx! just phoned a local tinter and they said there is some new legislation whic he needs to clarify first before getting back to me!! apparently he's liable if i get pulled over for it so he needs to get some sort of disclaimer for customers to sign!!!

Are you sure SOMEONE did it, I have been stood next to a VW when for no reason at all the Window just popped and shattered, mind you, it was during the heatwave. (Unless someone was shooting at us with Air Rifle, but then there would have been a centre bullseye, surely).

i had to do the same mate! cos mine are just a bit too dark to be legal so i signed the disclaimer.

jimma you are right in the fact that windows can shatter through heat expansion on some cars the rear heated screen can self destruct if ya not careful

although i wouldnt have thought heat expansion would be the problem at this time of year!!!

it was probably some ***** head messing about mate!

Tints are great for things like this.

A friend of mine used to own my partners old escort.

It had tints. SHe was involved in a nasty accident where some :censor: drove into the side of her.

The drivers side crumpled and the glass smashed. But luckily for her, the film prevented the glass going everywhere. That was a bonus otherwise she would have had some nasty scars on her face now.

Tints do look good, but they have that added benefit of protection from both shattering and putting opportunists theives off breaking in.

I am sorry to hear about what has happened. In reality though it is a shame that you can never find those little :censor: and give them a piece of your mind :ffs:

yes that is a good price

170 per car isnt bad at all i payed 160 for mine and got quoted 275 from one particular place of which no name will be mentioned!

glad you approve!! just found out that i can get an interface and fit an alternative stereo! my mates flogging me his sony cdx m1000tf. it looks pretty sweet especially since i have no chance of putting a sat nav system in! no space for the screen to fold on!

Sounds like i may have to put back the tints for now!
