Gtz Supercharged Levin Speedo

howdie folks, im new on the site!

I need help with the speedo on my ae101 levin. when i bought it the speedo wasnt working, I looked at the top of the gear box, one wire was still intact but two were loose, I wired them in both ways but still nothing. dunno where to go now, can anyone help me! please..... Also if anyone happens to have a supercharged levin could you please look at the top of the gear box where it plugs in and tell me what order the wires are in, colour wise. thanks

It's possible that there is no-one here who has one of these cars. I have a 4A-GZE in my AE111 Corolla but the speedo drive is mechanical not electrical.

do you mean there is a cog in the gear box responsible for calculating the speed? as far as im aware this is the case in mine, just dunno where to look for it!

but mine shud be the same as yours, its the same engine! i have veyl little room for looking around the engine,as if fills most of the engine bay!!!

where is the sensor that controls the speedo?

Standard fit on the 4A-GZE is electrical so that is what yours is. The speedo in my Corolla is not electrically driven it's mechanically driven by a cable. The guy who did my engine transplant fitted the mechanical drive from my original gearbox to the transplanted gearbox.
