G7 Power Problems

Hi Every one, hopefully some one might be able to assist me with a problem i have.

I have a 2000 TRD M-Sport Celica imported from Japan with around 70,000km, the only thing is when pulling away there is hardly any power out of it, once it reaches 6,200rpm it flys but there is barely any acceleration out of it what so ever from standing until 6,200rpm. It has a Blitz induction kit and that is all that has been added to the engine, and a back box.

To give you an idear how slow it is a t-sport 190bhp Celica is supposed to do 0-62mph in 7.4seconds, my M-Sport is factory 210bhp and is around 12seconds to 62mph!!! C2 Citrons and killin me, HELP!

any suggestions would be brilliant. Sean

when you say it has hardly any power, does it feel like any other (140) celica pulling away? one thing about these high bhp N/A engines is that they lack torque and feel like they have no power before lift

I'll admit, they aren't the fastest when not in lift - but my celica has still got a little more go in it than my Mini cooper had when keeping below 6krpm.

I'd perhaps get your MAF sensor checked to start with, this is common on a lot of cars to cause power issues. Either way, I'd look at getting it looked at professionally.

Let us know how you get on.
