Circuit Heater Sensor

hi all,

Got a 02 plate Rav4 auto 2ltr - Had a problem with the sensor on the gear box which is now fixed. Still got a fault, the engine managment light is intermittant. Had a free check up with the garage that fixed my gear box fault, they found a new problem with a circuit heater sensor bank 1. I can find the sensors at the front of the engine, but which sensor is bank 1 and bank 2?

Hope someone can help

cheers

Dorph :)

Ah yes , another 250 quid for Mr T. Plenty of threads on this. The heater circuit goes o/c. I've had 2 done. Bank 1 are the passenger side top and bottom and hence bank 2 are the drivers side two(RHD). Sensors 1 are the top two pre-cat and sensors 2 involve grovelling on the ground to see them after the cat. Hope I've got that right. Have a search on this (and the Avensis) forum. Unless the auto is different you need to find out whether it is top or bottom sensor , the white wires are the heater circuit and I believe they should be around 15 ohms when not faulty.
