Just Brought A T Sport

Hi Everyone

I'm Dan and brought a 54 plate T Sport today!!!!

Very excited....

About 3 years ago i test drove one and a type R and i loved them both. In the end got a lease car and did not need to purchase. I finished with that and then brought a 1.25 fiesta style to tide me over over. Sensible / fuel effcient car! I have not even had this a year and decided i wanted something with a few more creature comforts and a bit of whizz!

I had been looking for a bit and there were none local. I took a drive to waterlooville and they had a couple there. One was pre facelift 53 plate and the other was a new facelift 56 plate i think??? The newwer one was out of my price range really, but i must admit the newer ones do look nice......

The 53 plate was up for £6495 and had 37k on the clock. Not to sure of the history either, and i didn't get a good feeling from it. The steering wheel was off centre aswell when driving straight I went in a done a bit of hangling and i got £4500 in mine for part ex so needed another 2k...........

I then went onto another independant garage to take a look at one there.......... This one was a 54 plate and had 27k on the clock and was at £5495. The history of this was one lady owner who lived locally. (backend of nowwhere). Test drove and i had a better feeling straight away. I went back and done a deal. Did not get near to toyota as much form mine in part ex but still worked about the same i had to pay around 2 k ish............. still relativley happy and i pick up saturday morning!!!!!

Looking forward to a nice 85 mile journey home after pickup!

Oh no thats always the case!!! Ooooh how much is that 56 plate going for?

I was going to upgrade my stereo but its too much hasstle with the facelift model so now i got a DAB radio in the garage im never going to use :(

Ahh so yours is a pre-facelift.... Still a good deal, but defo have a look at getting a strut bar and lowering springs as i find the ride quite has as standard of the prefacelift models.

think he is putting it up for £6500 which is a good price.................... only thing is he thinks it might be a 5 door

whats is the man differences between the pre and facelift models??

mate is going to see if he can do me a better deal on sale of my motor. then i can cancel the part exchange. hopefully the garage will be ok with that??????

Thanks

Main difference is styling, bumpers, lights, interior etc

Some 04 plates are facelift, does yours have "teardrop" headlights and a carbon fibre style centre console??

Good choice tho!

psst they didn't make a 5 door T Sport after 04.....

Facelift has:

Bodykit - nice

Lowered suspension - nice

Strut brace - nice

Darker interior trim - I don't like it, I think the pre facelift is nicer

TS kickplates - nice

Alloy pedals - nice

White dials - nice

Red seats - not nice, there are a few with leather/alcantara but not nearly as many as pre facelift with full leather

Auto wipers - OK I guess

Auto dimming rear view mirror - Again, OK I guess

Maybe auto lights???

Lots of facelift parts can be retro-fitted to a pre facelift if you need to.

No auto-headlights on any CTS as far as I'm aware.

Facelift also has a rear Strutbrace as standard, I think the Pre's don't have it? Hidden away under the boot lining and a polostyrine cover.

loving the long drive home! got cut up my some cheeky clio on the way home so i blitzed it! Yes the lift engaged.... just find by the time you hit lift, your already hitting 70 so its hard to use it without going past 70.......

guess i just need to get used to it and adjust my driving style! how do you guys drive it?

In Lift, Always in Lift. haha.

Lift is awesome. Just wait til you see the faces of people in 1.8Turbo Audis. So funny..

Just for the records... Lift wont Engage until the car has warned up enough. If you try booting it at all when it's cold it'll limit around 6.8kRPM.

Not recommended! :D

yeah prob no a good idea............................

do you mainly use lift pulling away quick, as in when your booting it in 2nd / 3rd???

To be fair I only ever use it when ****** around on the motorway or something. Mrs is pregnant at the mo so don't get to use it often when she's in the car... Get shouted at!

Lift is great for off the mark acceleration though. Just short of 40Mph in first, short of 70 in second and up to 90 in third.

One thing you might find funny doing... staying side by side a car pretending you're giving it full beans and then hitting lift after giving people false hope. (All on the tracks ofcourse..)

Also.. Consider an Induction kit of some sort. Great roar from the CTS with one!

See Here.

lol,,,,,,,,,,,, girlfirend can't wait to take MY car to work, she loves it. She drove it for the first time today and i think she is pretty jealous! Her excess is like £750 though , so she had better be careful!

Coming back today i found lift best on the slip roads! u can give it plenty and then just as you hit the motorway the lift kicks in and you go shooting off! I had better be careful though as i can see this thing giving me a few points on the license!!!!!

Is the induction kit something that can easily be fitted? Mates a mechanic, guess he could do it??

Haha, My Mrs drives it more than I do these days as she takes it to work after I go to work.

The Induction kits can be fitted by anyone with very minor engine knowledge. Most kits come with fairly straight forward instructions. If you don't feel comfortable with it though you can always get your friend to do it.

Yep same here, but she's just as daft as me, I think she gets more of a kick out of it, comes home and tells me how she's just blown this bloke off. (man/woman thing)
