Can someone please let me know what all the shorthand means. I can see lots of 4.2 or 4.3 and I am not sure what models they are!

Thanks

Lets keep it simpler.

Theres the icon of all RAV4s - the original and only proper RAV4. 1994 to 2000.

Then you have the post 2000 millenium ornaments sometimes annotated as "4.2" or "4.3". These have been fabricated in a small workshop somewhere East of Hull, and have a history of problems surrounding the connections between the engine and the rear wheels; fawlty mini-heaters that should heat up the oil they burn but don't; stiff and sticky challenges to move gears - all in all something akin to a landrover - but then thats what the competition was seen to be by those East of Hull.

Then those West of Alaska decreed that spare wheels were no longer required. They have been a fixture on cars for 80 years or more - but no - those factory wizards established that customers want to run their tyres flat and do not want the hassle of getting hands dirty changing nasty wheels - so along came the latest versions of the "4.3" - maybe we should call them the "4.3less" - pointless really?

Next, we get a flurry of photographs of people washing their RAVs - ie the 4.2s and the 4.3s - for fear of something that most mortals know not. If cars were meant to be washed regularly, surely a bigger washer tank would have been installed??

So

there we are. Its simple isn't it?
