i'd happily do my bit for the environment by using bio-ethanol (E85 i think it's called) purely because it has a RON rating of 104! :D extra power and good for the environment, win-win :D

as for the compresor, straight swap still available :P

If you are in Europe, there is not much hope of anything tasty. If you live anywhere else in the world............you can have what you like and do all the polluting you will ever need  Fact.

WRONG! the US gets watered down versions compared to what we get in Europe and our stringent emmission laws are an american invention. the 2zz was scrapped cos it couldnt meet new Cal emmission laws.

back on topic - you must remember the compressor isnt a factory model. they were modified at toyota dealers so you can draw your own conclusions.

i'm surprised the Germans did such a half ar5ed effort. they should have had low comp pistons for a start. it would have been better if they had imported the TRD version. TTE had the oppurtunity to make the t sport the car it should have been but didnt so thats a massive fail from a tuner who makes F1.

strange them going through alternators - must need a more powerful alternator or they are misaligned or under/overdriven?

nothing worse than constant niggles - it spoiled my enjoyment of the t sport for the first year - you've had issues for longer so i'm not surprised youve had enough.......... most would have moved on by now. very unacceptable situation.

The US does get the watered down crappy cars.

The suspension is made softer, the interior cheaper, with less options, the engines detuned and its all revamped when its shipped to Europe!

This is really annoying for my dad as he wanted to get the V8 Genesis Coupe but they only sell them in US until 2012 so there are very few European ones that will get here.

Something like ten for now!

SP's contact with TTE said the original prototype of the Compressor had a front mounted intercooler and was much more powerful (which we all know with the right map gives it 240bhp+) but apparently it required them to cut the bodywork. In order to do this they needed approval from Japan, which they didn't get, hence the lower output. Shame!

That really sucks!

It would have been great to have that extra power!

My dads car was re-mapped yesterday and it is fantastic!

The power band has no blips or soft spots in every gear! Its well worth a look to anyone, makes a much better driving experiance! ;)

Just don't forget that your dads car produces around 60 BHP per litre when stock which is very poor, so remapping should allow more power to be squeezed quite easily.

Yeh!

The Japs get an engine thats incredibly small, strap a turbo to it and get 4,000,000bhp out of it, Germans get one and they refine it to the point that it runs on air, yet the Koreans nicked the engine off Mitsubishi, and then detuned it to the point that a lawnmower would have a a better level of pulling power!

Its sad to have to say it about a car that I love but its true. And this particular car does get more benefits from a remap, but others do get bigger and smoother powerbands anyway!
