Couldn't Be More Irritating....

Hi guys,

Last weekend I got a couple of my mates round so that we could fit the tailgate to my car which went well.

At the end of the day, they left for home and I decied to get the sand paper out and start sanding down the wheel arch that I had filled in weeks before. It was perfect with brilliantly smooth edges until suddenly a small part broke away and I now have to refill the spot and start agian!

This will have been my third coat of filler paste!!! :ffs: :censor:

Can anyone give me any tips on how I can counter this and finally get the finish that I need to respray?

I cant get it done professionally because I'm saving my pennies for some Ksports later in the year.

Cheers

Weld in some sheet metal so your car isn't made of filler!

Sorry couldn't help saying that ;)

I could do that seeing as my mate has just given me his welder and will teach me how to use it over easter!

For now though I have filler paste, so errr...... :chair::lol:

Just use chewing gum. Seems to work for everyone on Pimp My Ride..

make sure the adjoining area is prepped (take the shine of the lacquer) and scotched before applying filler, also are you mixing the correct amounts up?

The mix is fine as the stuff dries hard and fast enough it just seems to suddenly chip in areas but it isnt as if its brittle!?!?

It really should be steel in the wheel arch area.......................filler is always going to chip or shrink and fall out :)

Filler should only be used for the finer details......................not the main repair
