Strange Noise Coming From Suspension On Cts-c

Right,

As is traditional....its time again for a good moan!

Not sure if this is a fault or a 'feature' of the corolla, but, when turning right on a less than smooth road (like most roads in britain) the suspension makes a knocking sound, well more of a rattle really, like its not bolted up properly.... its always been that way..i think, but its finally p@ssed me off!

it doesnt do it in a straight line or over speed bumps etc only when turning right.....any ideas?

oh and another little feature...anyones CTS-C make odd noises at speed something similar to the vibration you get with an out of balance wheel combined with a window down....that weird oscilating noise? but there no wheel wobble or pull so i think the wheel balance is fine. it seems to be coming from the back......i think.

Any help would be greatly received...its a 40 mile round trip to Mr Toyota and they usually take all day!

hmm.....summat german nexttime me thinks...

My back wheel is currently making a weird sound when driving off i have had a look at the problem. Its only one wheel which causes a squeeking noise when pulling off or rolling off the accelerator. When i brake i am now getting a squeek which is indicating the pad is wearing down. I lift the car on the jack and put the handbrake down, Started pushing the back 2 wheels. I found the passenger side rear wheel where i guessed the squeek was coming from was giving a hissing sound when it was being spun. Also it wasnt spinning to easy had to give it quite a push. I think my caliper has seized onto the disc. Its really annoying as it doesnt make noise when i drive for a few minutes but after using the brakes or travelling a fair bit that noise comes and its well embarrasing and annoying. Trying to get the car into the mechanic but hes so busy aswell. Have a look at the car like that first, The sound of mine sounds the same like a wobbly wheel or as if something is coming loose at the back.

Two of my freinds have had knocking sounds as of late and both turned out to be the shocks. The CTS-C seems to have far more common problems than the CTS with these things. They are different componants though..

check bushes and droplinks - does sound like a droplink to me. the noise from the rear is probably 1 of the calipers binding. clean and regrease the sliders and see if the noise goes.

Dropped it into the mechanic today, he is going to lower the car more and check the calipers and sort out the brakes. Will ask him to give that a go aswell.

Sounds like the drop link is rubbing onto the suspension or cud b one of ur wheel bearings r knackered, i had both problems, but drop link wasnt toyota fault it was the place where i got my suspension and anti roll bars fitted and he didnt place the anti roll bar in the centre
