Exactly! So when the parents/kid combination is shopping between the hours of 0000-0600, they can make use of the already widen bays, thus no longer needing parent/toddler bays and I dont get my car hit my anyone.

It's win win. :D

i hope one day you have kids cos then youll eat your words. i dont mind where they put PnC spaces but obviously you have some sort of leg malfunction.

and anyway why dont YOU shop between those hours? nice and empty and you can park where you like?

or, and heres a better idea, if you hate shopping so much, WHY DONT YOU DO IT ONLINE, and save yourself the hassle.

lets face it it isnt the size of the parking bays that is the problem. its carless tw@)s that dont respect others property!

Update,

The police have just spoke to me, they have received the witness statement (for the other party who damaged my car) which they say they are unhappy at so have viewed the cctv again and spoke to the security guy who did a report and statement and will be contacting the women’s (who damaged my car) local police force to get them to interview her for failure to report and leaving the scene of an accident with the intent of carrying this on with a prosecution depending on the outcome of the interview.

Result very happy at this and has taken a long time, I bet she wish she had taken my other to pay for the damage now.

Since the above has happened I have spoken to her again but she still refuses to pay for the damage, silly women the police are now going to prosecute and I have been advised this normally carries 6 points and a fine over £200. If and once i get a successful prosecution the solicitor will have no problems getting the funds from her insurance company.

As you can see the door looks fine now but to say it had a 12" crease from under the window down through the panel line with a dent at the top and bottom and a 5" crease going the other way the dent guy did an amazing job.

Update

She was interview under caution and again never admitted it, the police say because they cant see the damage occur on the CCTV even through they can clearly see her door hit mine and then her park elsewhere. They cant prosecute her for hit and run because they have to prove she knows she has done the damage, I am so :censor: :censor: :censor: the solicitor cant get the funds from her insurance company because they want an engineers report which you would not get for a few hundreds pounds of damage. What is the point of CCTV I bet if it was a murder the footage would be good enough, I know murder and criminal damage are 2 very different crimes but they are both crimes. The morale of the story is dont give a damn about anything thats not yours and if you get caught never own up as you will get away with it unless you confess.

Rant over

Really sorry to hear that, in fact virtually any car forums that I visited would have similar stories, it just goes to show there are ignorants all over our roads whom don't give a toss about other peoples' P&J.

..and I bet that silly cow must have been really chuffed now knowing she got away with damages shes done to your car!!!

I always do my shopping either really early in the morning or after watersheds LOL

Result, my solicitor (legal protection on the insurance) has agreed there is more than enough evidence to issue a summons against the other driver. I have to say I had given up on this until I received a letter today from the solicitor and I am very happy about this and to be honest this is about the principle that you cant damage other peoples property and get away with it rather than the money involved.

I would to see her face in around 2 weeks when she opens the summons letter and I have been informed I have a good chance of success

Result

Just got a letter from the solicitor with a cheque for all the damage + interest (don't forget the court and solicitor fees as well) it appears to me even thorough she denied ever being there and then denied doing this she thinks it is best to settle out of court rather than a judge look at the evidence.

Wish I knew how ****** off she is now because if she referred this to her insurance has I was told by the solicitor was the most likely response now she has also lost her NCB, unless she paid herself which I doubt as when I called her over a year ago and offered to let her sort this out she was very stuck up and adamant she was not even there.

Morale of the story is that this has cost me nothing but always take legal protection on your insurance (this pays for the solicitor) and when the solicitor does not preform very well ride them like a cowboy all the way to a result.

Solicitor was irwinmitchell and I have had some of the most stupid incompetent letters you have ever seen from them but I will say when ridden hard they got a result.

Just spoke to the solicitor who has confirmed that it was her insurance company who paid out, I will add this is the same insurance company who claimed they had inspected her car and said there is 100% now way she could have done the damage. With her insurance company paying out TBH this is a bigger result for me as in the end this will cost her more than if she has paid through her loosing her no claims bonus etc.

Very interesting story from start to finish. I would have done the same, well done on the result. It makes me want to install a CCTV camera overlooking my driveway to catch anything that might happen. Once my car was parked in Stevenage in a parking bay overnight (for flats) and in the morning some prats had scratched "something FC" into the bonnet. No doubt after coming home from a football match or pub. Never found out who did it of course.

Good result, some people just don't care...my mate was sitting in his car at Asda and a woman ploughed a trolley into his door, he got out and she denied it, unbelievable.

hi

wife was watching on tv judge judy, the case was about a women making a claim about another women who after unloading her shopping trolley, just left it on the car park, the wind blew it into the claiments car and causing damage.she was only a few feet away from the trolley paking bay.

the women claimed once she took her hands off the trolley it was the supermarkets responsabiliy.and it must have been a very high wind to move the trolley.the store checked with local weather people and the wind that day was not particuly strong.

the judge told her if she was to lazy to move her trolly to the trolly bay then she should be not expect other people to be responible for what happened to that trolly.

she was told to pay that repair bill.

a couple of years ago i saw a trolly wiz past my car and hit another car,it was not a windy day but there is a slight slope on that carpark, when it hit the car it jumped up in the air with the force and left a nasty dent in the cars door.there several trolley bays there, but some people just cant be bothered to use them.

at another car park i saw this women getting into her car just leaving her trolley where she had just unloaded it,

so i went over and told her what danmage that trolley could do,and told to park it in the trolley bay.

she didnt like it much, but did it.

hi again

a couple of years ago i brought a s/hand mondeo st s/hand,only done 12000 miles and in nice condition.

it had couple of small chips on it and small ding on the roof.so i got a local chipman to sort it out.

he checked the car all over and sorted it all out,did a smashing job for £50.car looked as new.

later that week went to a local market town.got a bit bored looking in charity shops with the wife so went back to the car to wait for .a man and his wife returned to their car parked next to me,he got in then she opened her door then decided to go to her boot, leaving her door open, that was ok till she sat in the car then her door swung fully open so that the door banged open against my door.i blew my top and and gave her a mouthfull, she was very sorry she said as she is useally very carefull.the car wasnt dented but the paint was marked.but i did manage to polish it out.

why it seems to be women who will open a car door and let go of it,evan if its a windy day and a door is like a sail and will move in a wind.

when talking to the chipman about paint finishes i asked if the paint he used for repairs was water based he said no,nor was the paint on the car water based or any other car.

does anyone know someone who is a sprayer etc who can confirm this or otherwise.

Thanks for all the replies, Yes a lot of people will say why should I bother for what the repair cost but this was all about principal and the fact what she did was not on. I will also add that when I first saw the damage I was expecting a new door skin at least as with a 18" crease down the middle of the door I never thought this would come out and neither did a friend of mine who has his own car body shop, so when I first pursued this I was expecting the cost of the repair to be £500+ but in the end I have no regrets that I have made her pay for her dont give a crap about other peoples property attitude ;)

For me this story was about showing some respect, respect for your property, you even gave her a cheaper option and she declined, good to see the result went your way, nice one.
