Hi

I was today at Toyota Centar to buy additional equipment for my Auris. The guy asked which model do I have and their software had a dropdown box with two options: 2006/10 and 2009/02. He also mentioned that it is the same car, just 2009/02 is restyled. I bought my car 6 month ago. Now am just wondering how new model looks like.

TIA

Sorry haven't heard. I think he didn't know what he was talking about. Didn't find even on Toyota's site anything. Maybe he was talking about Auris Blue -special edition? It looks the same as original Auris!

Best regards, Alex

In the February edition of What Car, under New Car Launch timetable, it states Toyota Auris Mid 2009.

Although no pictures.

It's strange if the car is coming out soon and there's no

pics on the Internet

Otherwise, found this on a German website motor-talk.de, although it is dated Aug '07: http://74.125.77.102/translate_c?hl=en&amp...rhlIjmKN8TfVE_A

Got the Auris german plate with blade rear lights.

That car seems like Photoshop Tuning...

I've been drifting around looking at cars and I've been told by 2 Toyota dealers that there are good deals to be had on the Auris because they are clearing out the current cars to make way for a facelifted model. They would/could not tell me when the new model would be out. One did confirm that the would be coming with the new Valvematic petrol engines.

Yea the new 1.33ltr petrol - optimal drive

Would be surprised if there is a facelift though, so soon. If there is then toyota are disappointed with sales.

And a 1.6 l Valvematic 132 hp with 6 transmission gearbox, but i think that's all of the changes... We'll see

They both referred to cosmetic changes first, I raised the point of Valvematic engines and it was sort of "yes, there's that as well". I got the impression that the 1.33 Litre 'stop-start, economy' engine is already available in the current Auris. I didn't take much notice on that front as it's not my thing. One of the things that puts me off the Auris is the lack of a reasonably powerful petrol engine - they need a small turbo engine along the lines of the VW TSI to give a car with a bit of mid range pull.

Just the 1.33 & 1.6 I assume, no hope of a 1.8 or 2.0 Valvematic in the Auris I suppose?

No new engines apart from the 1.33 which is available right now, as with all things in life, the new engines will make there way down the model line up at some time in the future. There will be a Verso at some stage, but I dont know of any dates yet

  • 1 month later...

Hi

Seems like some of the changes are now on their way through the system:

2009 Auris

The 1.6 petrol gets the Valvematic engine and there is a reduced model range (T3 and non 180 SR models are dropped).

Andy

Edit: I also found this which shows that the Nederlands are getting the 1.8 2ZR FAE engine. Why can't the UK have this version?

The previous reply had a link to show the 'new' shape - no information on interior or external differences yet.

The new model range can be seen here in the new price list:

http://www.toyota.co.uk/bv/UK_car_prices/i...ewCarPrices.pdf

The old six trim levels: T2, T3, TR, SR, T Spirit, SR 180 are reduced to four: T2, TR, T Spirit and SR 180.

The number of model combinations e.g. (TR, 1.6) is reduced from 39 to 21.

The smaller engines benefit from 6 sp manual for better economy - also shown is the CO2 and power in the price list - increased!

Kind regards

Aur1s

Does the SR180 no longer have a rear roof spoiler, as it appears as a £275 option?

The 2009/02 Auris is a running change update with new engines and 6 speed gearboxes only: 1.33, 1.6 Valvematic and 1.8 Valvematic [2ZR-FAE] petrol engines. Updated 1.4 diesel and 2.0 diesel (from the new Avensis), and 2.2 carried over.

In 2010/02 there will be a major facelift. No info available yet.

........... 1.8 Valvematic [2ZR-FAE] petrol engines. ............

Hi. Did you have the previous 1.8 petrol engine (2ZR-FE) in the Auris in Denmark or has the 1.8 version just been introduced?

Cheers - Andy

Hi Andy,

The 1,8 engine 2ZR-FE has never been available in any western european country, as the specs are virtually the same as the Dual-VVTi 1,6 1ZR-FE (132 vs. 124 horsepower). Also, the 2ZR-FE has not been built in Europe, hence only the japanese built Yaris T-Sport 1,8 had this engine.

As the new 147 hp 2ZR-FAE is built in Scotland, it's an easy job to fit it to the UK-built Auris. Also, the hp is now somewhat higher than the 1,6 - meeting demand for a much asked for higher powered petrol engine.

Hopes this answer your question :-)

I've heard that in some countries there are "old" Auris' with full auto transmission and 1.8 engines... Will it be possible to choose full auto gearbox to the ones which will be sold in Europe with 1.8 engines?

Best regards, Alex
