Original Or Aftermarket Wheels?

just wondering what everyone prefered. my are very badly kerbed buy the previous owner. i cant decide whether to refurb the originals or get some different ones

Assume we're talking alloys here.

IMO original equipment always looks better than aftermarket add-ons, therefore I'd consider refurbishing them if they're not too badly damaged. Otherwise genuine Toyota replacements would be nice, but won't come cheap.

I'm of a different opinion. It would be cheaper to have the original wheels refurbished (aftermarket wheels of the same price IMO is not worth considering) and brand new Toyota items are more costly. In terms of aftermarket wheels, theres loads of choice out there the only obstacle is choosing one that suits the car. Theres a lot that look good standing alone but dont go when fitted but thats a matter of taste also some of the quality of these items are suspect so its worth doing research. (The OEM wheels on my car were Ronal, they also do aftermarket wheels.) I've got a set of aftermarket wheels on and I think it doesn't look too bad, if it does well it was my wife's choice lol.

I've put aftermarket wheels on my Avensis SR and everyone says it's made a huge difference for the better.

See posting from Alberto Michelat dated May 22nd 2007. A long way back, page 23 on postings i think, shows high quality pictures of all Avensis optional wheels supplied from Toyota.
