How long will it stay like that in this weather?

Awesome job though, I'm waiting for the salty roads to go away before I give mine a look at!

Washed the car yday, its in a state already today. The weather is terrible and my wheels are just picking up brake dust and dirt. I still with dedication try to keep it clean every week tho.

The thing i find is that now i have sealed the wheels and have a couple of layers of good quality wax on the car, it is so easy to clean! Rain water just forms droplets on the paint and by the time i get to work the car is virtually dry and all i have to do to maintain that, is top up with a layer of wax every couple of months and power wash weekly/fortnightly.

does a power wash not rid of the wax you put on the body? sorry for sounding stupid i just thought a high pressure hose would strip it off...

Using a power washer would be fine as long as you follow a couple of basic rules.

Don't use any form of detergent.......Washing up liquid is the worst!!

Dont put the power nozzle to close to the bodywork, you are rinsing off the dirt not blasting it off.

Hope this helps.

I tend to use Meguiar's clay and *genrally* apply it in a circular motion - doing a panel at a time before wiping down and buffing it up. Need to get myself a foam lance as well, as they do a good job of cleaning all of the loose particles off the car before you need to apply any elbow grease :)

If you are looking to use a clay bar then Halfords do a Meguiars clay bar and lubricant kit which is aimed at beginers, and is easy to use if you follow the instructions.

You will be amazed at the results too, your paint work will feel like glass, and you may be shocked at how much crud is actually embedded in your paintwork!!

My only piece of advice for claying is, dont press on to hard....apply light fingertip pressure only, don't be tempted to scrub at something that is being stubborn. You could do more damage.

If you buy one and need some advice or you live near me i would be happy to help out.

Regards
