Gen 7 140 - Noise From Rear Passenger Side Wheel

I have got an awful noise that is coming from the passenger side rear wheel. It sounds kind of like the brake pads rubbing on the disc, so i have changed all the rear brakes (handbrake shoes/pads/discs) for new ones.

The noise is still there, it seems to increase in volume and speed the quicker the wheels turn, i cant pinpoint what it might be.

Does anyone have any ideas?

thanks

Michael.

No, Tyres are fine, just had 4 new tyres put on 2 days ago, it was making the noise before the tyres and now still doing it!

I think i might have to bite the bullit and take it to a garrage and pay someone to have a look at it! :(

My guess is its a metal-on-metal sort of sound?

If so, I think the plate that the handbrake assembly is mounted on is rubbing against the inside of the disk.

Look at it for signs of scratches.

If you see any, then bend the area back a little with a pair of pliers.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

I have still not got to the bottom of it, hawkerpaul - just been out and removed the wheel and done as you suggested, didnt cure it!

any more for any more? could it be a bearing?

thanks

best thing to do is CHOCK THE FRONT WHEELS, jack the car up, take the wheel off, release the handbrake, then just get your head in there and keep spinning the disk until you pinpoint where the noise is coming from. you could also try taking the disk and pad back off and if it still makes the noise youve eliminated any fault with the braking sytem.
