Rav Mk1 & Mk2 Question

can anybody tell me please

is there any difference re: ground clearance from mk1 to mk2 rav?

as i see several mk1 rav's as im driving or walking around and im sure they look slightly higher off the ground than the mk2,did toyota lower the mk2 as im sure it has less ground clearance.

I can't really answer your question although i agree the 4.1 did look higher, it tells you the grnd clearance in the handbook, so if you find the clearance for your 4.2 we need a kind 4.1 owner to have a look so we can compare, and maybe a 4.3 for good measure

depends on what you mean ground clearance

I have 2 1994 RAV 3 door models - identical but

number 2 sits higher off the ground - partly/mainly cos number 1 wears low profile tyres;

and partly as number 1 has done 175,000 miles and number 2 less than 80,000 miles....so spring wear is maybe less.

I think the suspension set up on 4.1 and 4.2 models is pretty similar - the 4.2 is a bit larger so maybe looks as if it sits on the road differently.

well it says that mine is 185mm at lowest point,but as i do a lot of greenlaning and having quite an interest in cars generally i am always comparing other 'soft roaders' with my rav.

and it was just when ever i saw a mk1 ,i thought to myself 'im sure they sit higher off the ground compared to mine'.

and having more ground clearance means a lot to me

so for a long time now i have been trying to source a way of giving mine a slight 'lift' without spending a fortune on new springs & shocks.

someone on rav4world is currently having custom 65mm coil spring spacers made in america,he calls himself 'alexjet'.

and shortly he may issueing drawings of spec's for others to copy if they want the same result......like me
