Blitz Ecu "fuzzy Logic"

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys i need you wealth of knowledge once again

I have a rev 2 mr2 turbo (hks induction kit, ss exhaust system, walbro fuel pump, sard pressure reg, blitz boost controller, uprated intercooler, turbo smart dump valve)

Ive seen a Blitz acess "super computer" advertised and apparently it maps itself to your car and with my mods he claims that it will be 330+ bhp with similar mods as i have when this ecu is added, any comments????

This is the advert

*******The Holy Grail of ECU’s!

BLITZ ECU DIRECT REPLACEMENT FOR MR2 TURBO

Simply put there is no better ECU available. This is a “fuzzy logic” learning computer that optimises the car and remaps as new performance items are added. The lesser version of this ECU the Blitz Direct Access ECU is great but this Blitz Super Computer Access ECU takes tuning to whole new level.

Taken from my 1993 (Rev 2) MR2 Turbo, Which I have owned for 2 years and enjoyed the benefits of this unique gem as each new tuning part has been added.

Without increasing the boost and only an induction kit, exhaust and downpipe my car increased in power from 220 BHP to 254 BHP.

Takes just 10 minutes to fit (using just a 10mm spanner) and will enhance and optimise your current and future modifications. No need to continuously remap after every new modification. I was informed that this ECU can be used up to 500BHP.

Basic features;

Removes Fuel cut

Removes Boost cut (Max boost 32PSI)

Raised Rev Limit (7500RPM)

Removes Speed Limit (Max speed using standard gear box at 7500RPM is 170MPH)

Reprogrammed Ignition Timing and Fuel Map

You will be amazed at the improvement this ECU makes. You will notice the increase is performance on the very first drive. Add a bigger turbo, boost controller, exhaust, intercooler and fuel pump and see your standard MR2 go from 220 to 330+ BHP (as one of my mates did). Then see mid 4 second 0-60 sprints and low 12 second ¼ mile times***********

AFAIK they dont remap as new mods are added. they learn like a std ECU but have modified values in the map.

they are god and ive seen good gains from them. i beleive they are remapable but not over here. 320bhp is not an unrealistic figure but it wont take bigger injectors and the like

So would you suggest that i buy this then? what would be a rough estimate of how much it would cost?

depends how much is being ask for it and how far you want to take the mods on your car, if your going to stay where you are then yes its worth looking at as long as its not more than say £300- £400. if you want to takeit further then a fully stand alone ecu (hydra neissis, motec , link G3 etc) is a better purchace. although the initial outlay is more it will grow with your car.

Hi Matt,

Found this information on the net for you so hope it helps you understand exactly how fuzzy logic works;

Fuzzy logic is "A mathematical technique for dealing with imprecise data and problems that have many solutions rather than one. Although it is implemented in digital computers which ultimately make only yes-no decisions, fuzzy logic works with ranges of values, solving problems in a way that more resembles human logic.

Fuzzy logic is used for solving problems with expert systems and real-time systems that must react to an imperfect environment of highly variable, volatile or unpredictable conditions. It "smoothes the edges" so to speak, circumventing abrupt changes in operation that could result from relying on traditional either-or and all-or-nothing logic." So essentially its a a self learning ECU that adapts to achieve optimum performance as each modification is added.

I have seen these ECUs used by some of the members from the MR2 Owners Club and they rave about how good they are. If you can get hold of one for under £400 i would defo reccommend it! They raise your redline to over 8000rpm some of the members have reported as much as 8700rpm redline.
