2 Problems Whining Noise And Scraping Sound

This sounds weird but when turning mainly noticeable at low speeds especially turning left my car makes a scraping sound almost like a brake disc or calliper sticking but only comes on when turn wheel. I heard that something can catch on the wheel like the handbrake is this common?

also second fault has become a lot more noticeable it is a droning whining sound almost like a wheel bearing as the faster you go the higher pitched the sound and it is not linked to the revs like a cat or exhaust problem. it is driving me insane and i am not sure what it is? any ideas?

can anyone shed any light on this? any comments or advice will be welcome :)

scraping noise could be a stone guard rubbing the disc ?? as for it being the handbrake well is it a front end noise or a rear .

Noise seems to be coming from the front. like i say the scraping sound sounds like discs grinding when you turn the wheel and the whining sound may be bearings or diff what dya reckon ?

stupid car have spent loads on it recently :(

sounds like you have the same noise as me mate, only mine is at the rear end. I'm taking it to a garage today to see what the problem is, i'll keep you informed as it could be the same thing.

Cheers

Michael.

Well, the garage didnt know anything!

I think it's the plate that the disc sits on, gonna have a proper look at weekend when it's light.

Might be an angle grinder job just to smooth the edges off!!!!

If you are using the standard brake disks i would be almost certain it was the inner face of your brake disks that have corroded.. which is a very common problem.

I had mine reskimmed twice under the warranty for this problem... then when the warrenty was up i just replaced them.

I would inspect the inner disks and if needed get them replaced with some decent aftermarket ones.. some like Black diamond or EBC.

The disk guard rubbing is unlikly unless you have managed to damage it some how.

Well the whining sound was the drivers side wheel bearing as i suspected couldnt identidy the other problem and it seems to have gone away now lol weird. The only thing is ideally i need a new hub/flange as there is some play in it. The stupid dealers want 200 quid for it. Any ideas where i can get a cheaper one even used or re-con? cheers
