Just Got An 04 T Sport

Just picked up a T Sport today. Have been reading the forum for the last week or so which has been very informative.

Couldn't have much fun driving it home at rush hour, but managed to get some lift in and loved the sound of the engine.

looking forward to empty roads on the way to work early tomorrow to give it a proper run out. :)

Some stupid questions from a novice:

If i were to get one of these typhoon kits that people on here talk about would it adversly effect my MPG? I do about 300 miles a week, mainly motorway with about 1/4 in the city.

Is the 6 CD auto changer standard on the model

i dont have multi changer on my 04 facelift. after i fitted my typhoon kit my MPG went up by 1mpg not down as you would think. although it doesnt make much difference to me as i average 26mpg lol

as far as i know the cd changer is an optional extra accross the entire range.

wouldnt worry about adverse effects on fuel consumption, if your scared of the 25/29 mpg people get on average, with LIFT usage, youve got the wrong car all together in standard form :P

stick a typhoon on and enjoy the sound ;)

cd changer is not standard, its about £400 from the dealers.

You can get them on eBay but make sure you buy one with the cable as you can't buy it separately.

I agree with Borodaz, the Typhoon increases MPG and overall drivability  Just be aware of the potential MAF sensor wire that can snap, its an easy fix and best resolved prior to fitting the Typhoon.

Our CTS does about 33MPG, however it doesn't use lift very often

I have the 6 Disc In-Dash CD Changer B)

However, it's still sat in a cupboard 2 years after taking it out of my Yaris

As for MPG you can see from my sig i get around 29 as an average, last few tanks have been giving 30+mpg so my average is going back up! ;)

That's with "Lift" every time i drive it! :D

cheers guys some useful info.

took it easy on the way to work. was enjoying being in a quiet car with no clunks, knocking or whining after my 2.0 megane coupe with gubbed wheel bearings and a knackered exhaust.

Welcome aboard to the CTS club! :D

I've got a Typhoon and see no loss in MPG, I'd say it's actually better than it used to be. I get an average of 29-30 Mpg, just like Gaz.. that's using Lift every time I drive!

Could do with the CD Changer myself but they're faaar too expensive. Think I'll just fit my JVC aftermarket unit... eventually :D
