Hi all, thinking about swapping my RAv T180 for a Verso, probably an SR, and probably used. I bought the RAV T180 brand new, but don't want to spend that sort of money again!! Ideally I would like to do a straight swap, at a dealers, but am unsure if they would do such a deal. So, I was just wondering what the 'real life' fuel economy is like on these? I've seen the other thread about the poor T180 mpg, which I agree with (am getting between 30-33mpg atm), so am looking for something more economic. Thanks.

Hi

Mine does 38-40 around town. 44-46 motorway 50+ old granny mode.... 32-34 when you boot it.....

That was before chipping, it now does a couple more if I don't use the extra power.........

Good luck. I doubt you will get a dealer to do a swap, they always want money......

Thanks for that. It's only a thought at the moment. May stick it out with the RAV.

From my calculated figures, not the cars computer I have been averaging between 44 and 47 mpg per month in the 7,500 miles and 9 months since new. Most miles from one tank 535.6, most fuel at a fill up 49.5 litres.

Trip computer can show averages into the high 50's (mpg) on a motorway run and down to the low teens on the instantaneous mpg on hard acceleration.

Exiting a roundabout on an A road the car can give some sports cars (Mazda MX-5) a run for their money and will also shame the sporty 4x4 brigade BMW X5, Land Rover "Sport". There are not many diesel 7 seaters that can claim a 0-60 time under 10s and still return around 50mpg.

Crikey. What was the computer suggesting as a remaining range at that point? I ask because I've had my T3 down to 22 miles and still only got in 43 litres before the pump cut out.

Our average over 8 months and 8,000 miles is about 41 mpg - slightly disappointing when I get 46 mpg from my Volvo S60, which is also quicker and quieter - although it does seem to be improving a little with age.

I usually run mine for another 50 miles after the light has come on and the distance to empty reads 0 then fill up... got over 50 ltrs a few times.

The computers were reading zero miles left in tank and mpg in the 50's, seeing as the tank is supposed to have a 55 litre capacity that would have left me at least another 50 miles before the tank ran dry.

I don't usually stop filling the car after the first click on the fuel pump, maybe on click two or three. If I know the car has a 55 litre tank and is roughly doing 100 miles for every 10 litres of fuel I can guesstimate how much it should take.

Well, had the new car 2 weeks now and have just used a full tank of fuel and managed to get 420 miles out of it. Hopefully it will improve once its run in as it only has 450 miles on it.

Same probs here. I have the 2.2d verso and cant ever get more than 48-49 litres in. The range on the trip computer when full always shows 417 ish.....I think you could get over 500, but you would struggle, you need the extra 5 litres to break that. I think its a trade description issue. You can't be expected to run out of fuel just to be able to put near the 55 litre capacity. Im also convinced the verso has an over-stated speedo and dodgy brake discs.....

filled it again today to the brim and got 47 litres in, worked out my mpg to be 41.8

We've an 04' 2.0 D4D. Averages 42mpg.

The speedometer on mine reads well over.

For me to be doing 70mph according to my sat nav, which is accurate, the speedometer shows more like 80mph.

Since clocking up 10,000 miles and the first service the car now easily gets to 500 miles from a tank and when pushed will reach 550 before the trip computer says there is no more in the tank.

Just bought my 55 plate (38,000) Corolla Verso T3 2.2 (136 bhp), on fill up just under 50 litres and somehow on the trip computer (range) only registers 353 miles? :( Is this normal when others are can get 400miles from full tank? Trip shows average 42mpg on motoway run which is ok.

Just wondering what other corolla verso owners trip range shows just after fill up? Mine is due for a 40k service maybe will improve after?

Would appreciate any feedback please, thanks....

Just after a fill up the miles until empty on my Verso are usually close to the total miles from the previous tank full. So if the car has done 450 miles then the indication with the full tank is close to another 450 miles.

It does depend on the mpg of the last few miles as this is what the computer will be basing its calculations on. So last few miles at an average 20 mpg will give a different miles from full tank reading to last few miles at 50 mpg.

On a motorway run at an indicated 70 mph (which is around 65 mph real speed) in sixth gear the average mpg in my Verso will read between 55 and 60.

Thanks, will try to economise and see if it makes any improvement, would resetting the trip on all info before fill up make a difference?

Even though some of the trip readings reset themselves after a refuel I manually cycle through and reset them all after every visit to the pumps. Also make a note of miles covered and litres put into tank for manual mpg calculations.

Thanks again, will give it a go.
