HI Ormi, when discussig my pollen filter with a tec at local Mr T,he told me that they only clean/change if the customer asks.so said there is an old lady (yes older than me)who lives near me who has a auris and would not know a pollen filter if she tripped over one.he just shrugged his shoulders.

We do it for £59.99 and include a pollen filter. Whilst it is not a labour intensive job, it now has to be performed by a trained person, and the equipment itself is expensive. New oil and gas need to be purchased regularly and the machine itself maintained

Kingo

I had mine done recently at your place and it was well worth the extra tenner to get the pollen filter replaced with the re-gas. Definitely made a big difference when we had that mini heat wave over easter

Western Toyota Dunfirmline charge 39 quid for the full service including the pollen filter. Why should another Toyota Dealer charge more ??

Same reason that it's cheaper to have a car serviced in, say Devon, than London - overheads. That's what they'll tell you anyway.

When I was buying my RAV I found a really good deal about a hundred miles away and was curious as to why they could offer such so I asked the salesman. He explained that the franchise was wholly owned, on their own land and with no loans to service. Therefore they could undercut most other dealers within a large area.

Could also be a 'special'

you should never clean out a polin filter due to the bacteria contained in them..no mate they should be replaced every 20k our service kits are all out for us and every 20k 40k 60k etc has a polin filter with the kit

Never mind the bacteria, it's the micro particles that it filters out that should not be blown back out into the atmosphere. Each pollen filter is electrostatically charged to retain those micro particles, thats why they look so black after such a short while, the filter is doing its job, just replace it, never clean / blow it out
