You could use gocompare or one of the other sites.

I'm insured through WhatCar with Liverpool Victoria (LV) me + the wife named driver, PNCB and business miles and they where competitive

Hoovie has some sites that are good...He'll be on soon.........

I tried the price comparision sites last week for my T180, varied from £221 to over £600!

Decided to stick with Toyota (not the cheapest at all) but I wonder what you might get at £221 with a car that was listed at £27,000 last year AND NO I did not pay that price.

Have a good search but check what you might get.

Best wishes

We are with Toyota insurance too. Not the cheapest but they have a good reputation, and it is more important to us to receive a good, no-quibble service in case of a mishap than to save a few pounds on the premium. I imagine that, as with everthing else, you get what you pay for. And at least their call centre is manned by English speaking people.

I've just received my insurance renewal quote from Frizzell (part of Liverpool & Victoria) and after discounts for CSMA and multi-product the price is £201. Frizzell/LV has a good reputation and is based in Bournemouth.

managed to sort a policy out with skyinsurance for £300 protected fully comp

I'm paying £224 to NFU for Comp. on my '98 4.1 'Sport' -value £2K with £100 excess.

Am I being ripped off I wonder? (They're supposed to be good value for 4X4s so I've heard)

I've been with NFU for about 12 years. Not the cheapest but the service is excellent. Paying, for a 4.3 XT5, if I remember correctly, £335 for fully comp. business use + wife as second driver + protected no claims + legal cover. One of the big advantages is that if my daughter and/or son-in-law come to stay, NFU will put them on the insurance for £10 for a week. Only takes a phone call to fix it. Think that the level of service that you get from them depends on which branch you deal with though.

Thanks for that Chris. Wonder why mine is so much more expensive then? I'm the sole driver, leisure & pleasure driving only, and (amazingly!) never had to make an insurance claim in over 40yrs driving. I do like the fact that I can deal directly with a 'real' person over the counter at the local NFU office - and I can endorse the high level of service, as I've also got house insurance with them and they were both excellent and speedy when the roof blew off here three years ago, and like you I got an insurance transfer for a friend who came to stay and drove my 1972 Morris Minor Traveller for two weeks - for just £15!

Round about £200 with AA Insurance. (Underwriters vary!) That is with full NCD.

TBH Guy the value of the car you are driving has little to do with your insurance costs, If god forbid you were to wipe out a Rolls Royce containing 5 Arab oil sheiks, or 5 top footballers, it wouldn't matter if you were driving a £500 car or a £50,000 car, the compensation would be in the millions, and your insurance would have to find it..
