Avensis Service Light

To millersmotcentre,

Autodata can only tell you how to turn off service light if your Avensis has one. I cannot think of any model with service light, unless the latest model has one??

Regards, Beagh.

PS: You don't give details of your car apart from Avensis.

Hi,

I think you mean the engine management light!!

If you just want to turn it off, without rectifying any issues, I would suggest buying a OBD II tester. Readily available off eBay for about £20ish. Do a search for ODB II or EOBD & you will find it. It will give you code readings from your cars computer & you will be able to find out what is wrong. You can then either rectify it, assuming the code relates to the code book. Or you can select to reset the management light & a problem may occur, like sluggish engine response or your cat packs in. It may be as simple as needing a new air filter.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Marama32

What do you mean by service light. Does the light look like a spanner. If it is it tells you in the instruction manual on how to reset it.

I presume you mean the oil change reminder light which is a spanner symbol.

Turn the key to lock position with odometer reading showing, turn the key to on whilst holding the trip button pressed continue holding about 5 seconds until odometer reads 000000 and the warning light goes off.
