First off,

Get an air filter as they give decent power gains and make the engine sound much more throaty, along with increased throttle response.

An exhaust system is also a good addition though they aren't cheap.

If your car is post 1992, then gettign a hi-flo sports catilytic converter is always good.

Also, an ECU remap can also make the engines power band feel much smoother and more responsive, though it is quite expensive.

Here are some links:

Europerformance

FENSPORT

Hope these helped!

i think the anser is your looking at small % power gains for big cash outlays.

at this point it become cheaper to buy a more powerful car/engine.

Hello guys, Thnx for both your replies, my car is 1985 carbie powered. But i will look into both of your replies.

I might even look at the custom shops too. As i also want to install a LAMBO DOOR KIT to my car.

Maybe rather than just extra power, you could go lighter.

Lightweight Flywheel, Pulleys, Cams, rims, hoods, panels, interior could be stripped out and you could go lightweight exhaust sytems aswell!

With such a small engine, its a matter of every small thing adds up!

The pulleys and what-not will releive the engine of strain, allowing it to use more power.

LOL

thats true

bascially, if you have a cat, rip it off..... as they strangle atol of power from the engine (silly government copying the americans.....) and you dont have to pass an emosions test :P

and then strip all the seat out, go alot lighter...

light weight alloys are always a good thing to do, but if you havent got much money, just stick to a free flowing exhaust, and a induction kit for now

if you add lambo door hinges to your car then it will make it alot hevier.. and i personaly dont see the appeal (unless on a lambo ofcourse :P)

my friend stripped out all of his interier and it was as fast as pritty much any thing out there (Y)

(0-60 sub 7 secs)

all this from a 1.6 16 sohc mitsubishi colt k reg !!! :|

hey guys, 1st thing, I did'nt in all honesty know that the lambo kit would add extra weight, I am still looking at the motor first.

I will start with the intake, maybe a lighter flywheel, Hey will that type of flywheel make the engine

sound any better or not. ?

BTW i feel really happy knowing this club can help me.

Thnx alot guys.

Thnx alot guys.

all the light weight flywheel will do, is make your enigne slightly lighter,

your problem will be fitting it, as youll have to take it to a garage, or if your very handy with tools then do it yourself.

if you want to make tour car sound better, then an induction kit, and a new back box is the way to go, i know im saving up to get a powerflow back box and decat over easter, which is going to cost about £200 :\

and ive got an induction kit on the way :)

cheepest way to make your car go faster tho, is literally rip the back seats out :P (well unbolt them)

:)
