Very true.

There is an aftermarket supercharger for the Aygo and Yaris which may help somewhat. Actually, wonder if that can be fitted to the IQ ? Would be a rather zippy little thing if it could

The Aygo CAN house a 4 cilinder: the Diesel IS a 4 cilinder engine...

You should be able to plug and play the 1.6 HDi 110 bhp engine into an Aygo. It's the same size as the 1.4 HDi 55 bhp engine Mr T borrowed from its peugeot/citroen friends. Then at least only the gearbox will be stressed, instead of tuning the life out of the petrol engine.

Obviously Autocar know sweet FA about cars!!!

I don’t know any owners on here that dislikes their Aygo  . In these doom and gloom economic times the Aygo owners (and their C1 and 107 counterparts) have been driving round with a smug grin on their faces, and who can blame them? With mega miles to the gallon cheap road tax, cheap insurance and high residual values I’m surprised the government doesn’t make it law that everyone should own and drive an Aygo. Kind on the wallet and kind on the environment, what more can you ask?

I’d have one tomorrow if I could afford one :crybaby:

Agree with the doubts about the iQ. If they had put all this new technology and luxury in a new Aygo imagine the furore that would cause!

A luxury Aygo sized Toyota would be a best seller

Sorry to say but what you have said is about the only thing I like about my Aygo ie MPG, Low road tax, good for the envirnment. Which was why I bought it. I have downsised from a larger, very comfortable, quiet car which the Aygo is not! Especially on a long journey. It does my head in. However it is a cheap car and I suppose you gets what you pays for!

What about that naff plastic bit on the dash with the red light behind or the string that holds up the flimsy rear parcel shelf?

Well you'll just have to adjust I guess. Plastic bit? Naff? Everyone that gets in my car comments on it and how it reminds them of a glowing fire. And the string? You'll probably find that most parcel shelfs lift up with a cord (though some cars have other systems). I wouldn't call the Aygo uncomfortable, I guess it depends how open you are to adjusting to your new wheels. :)
